ABOUT:
The University of West Florida Pensacola Museum of Art invites artists to submit photographic and video works to the third iteration of DocuFlorida, an annual exhibition of artwork that showcases the landscapes of Florida, the Gulf Coast, and the Southeastern United States. In conjunction with the STEAM2020 triennial, DocuFlorida 3 is focused on works that question and illuminate current ecological research and environmental practices.

The exhibition is inspired by Documerica, the photographic documentary project that was sponsored by the Environmental Protection Agency in the 1970s. Submissions can be photographs or digital video, and should attend to the environment, and rural and urban landscapes of the region. Established, emerging, and nascent artists and image-makers are welcome to submit.

DocuFlorida 3 will pair a slideshow of digital submissions with a selection of prints displayed in our Stairwell Gallery. The exhibition selection will be juried by the curators of STEAM2020 and PMA Chief Curator Anna Wall.

Submission Guidelines:

A Google/Gmail account is required for submissions

Artist may submit up to three (3) submissions

Must include title, date, medium and dimensions/duration for each submission

All submissions will be reviewed digitally only. 

Technical Specifications

Works may incorporate sound

Video and animation should be H.264 1920x1080

Digital image resolution should be 3000 pixels on the long dimension

60 second max duration for short videos and animation

15-20 second duration for all GIFs, Split Depth GIFs, Perfect Loops, Cinemagraphs, and digital stills 

Printed works will be no larger than 16” x 20”
